Cadets, faculty, and staff have all been victims of computer crime at VMI. Personal computers have been targets as much or more than larger servers.

Although day to day computer use is usually uneventful, disagreeable things are happening almost daily that can be prevented. Please take the next ten to twenty minutes to read this material carefully as it may help keep you from becoming the next victim.

Just as highways make interstate crime easier, networking makes "inter-computer" crime easier. Today, 300 million people can touch our computers with the click of a mouse. They can use the power of today's computers to automate and ease criminal behavior just as we use that power for our benefit.

There is a refresher quiz at the end of each presentation.
