| William Boggan Cash, Class of 1876:
Genealogy:
Born- Nov. 19, 1855 at Cash's Depot, Chesterfield Co. SC.
Father- Col. E.B.C. Cash; Mother- Allan E. Ellerbe (his cousin)
Pat. Grandfather- Col. Boggan Cash; Pat. Grandmother- Elizabeth Ellerbe.
Mat. Grandfather- Dr. William C. Ellerbe; Mat. Grandmother- Esther Sanders.
Never married, no children.
VMI Record:
Entered VMI- Aug. 1, 1872; Graduated June 29, 1876 standing 34th in a class of 35.
Careers: Planter; cattle raiser; Cheif of Staff to Gov. Wade Hampton.
Died- May 15, 1884. He had fought two duels in South Carolina. (His father was also a duelist). He later killed someone in a feud and when he refused to surrender to authorities he was killed by a posse in the swamps of his own plantation.
