historical rosters database. This resource provides researchers
with an online gateway to one of our most popular and valuable
genealogical resources
-- early cadet rosters and biographical
files. The database currently includes the names of all enrolled
students (both graduates and non-graduates) from VMI's opening in 1839
through the Class of 1935. Some records also include detailed
biographical and genealogical information. New records are added
regularly.
For further information about an individual listed
in the database, or to have us confirm the attendance of individuals
not yet included, contact
the VMI Archives. We can check the complete record, let you know if other
information is in our files, and provide photocopies of
original documents.

It does not include, and we do not provide,
information about living VMI alumni or current students.
